Hey, I wanted to check in.
How many of us are playing UT4 and on which server? I believe it is now possible to host our own?
Are we going to wake up DoS for the new game?

I've experiments to run,
There is research to be done

Would be cool. A DoS Hub could work well with 2 or more servers. But UT4 is still not a game I would want to play. It feels too fast for me and it's CTF focussed right now.

Reviving DoS sounds good to me.

It does feel fast, but it could also be a matter of map design. Most maps I saw are rather claustrophobic, trying to promote all those new fancy moves to maximum. Once the initial hype for those moves settles, I believe we will see a bit more open maps and the perceived speed will fall down a bit.

CTF is not that different from vCTF... basically: vehicles and translocator. Vehicles - I am sure someone will work on those. Translocator - we could host a server which disables it (I hate that tool).

Right now I am preparing myself to try creating a map for the new game (remaking vCTF-Aquarium most likely). Have to relearn the new editor, which seems to be a major upgrade from the previous version.

Just to let you know: there is a UT Vehicles section and in the first sticky post they write:

Quote:This is the place to discuss design ideas for Unreal Tournament vehicles. While we’re initially focusing on designing and implementing the core on-foot game types, we also recognize that vehicles, vehicle-CTF and Onslaught/Warfare are an important part of Unreal Tournament. If you aren’t interested in vehicles, don’t worry: the existence of gametypes with vehicles won’t impact the gametypes you love.

I know the vehicles post/section. I'm a regurarly visting the forum and track its progress in several threads. I'm also quite active in developing/trying-out stuff with/for UT4 (including a vehicles plugin).

A VCTF-Aquarium sounds good. Even though I like the original Aquarium even more (the upscaled one). Wink
