But its just the 1st shot. After that it makes less damage. And if you stop shooting for some seconds you get again the 150 damage shot.

IMO thats not a bug, its a feature Big Grin

Hellbender turrent has it's secrets, like making more then double damage if you wait 2/3 seconds between each shot, some players never realized that, e.g. i just told that to Neon some days ago as he didn't knew it.
In same side, the viper has its secrets also, such as the ability of climbing huge surfaces. Viper can go anywhere, if you have some sort of object below it. You can also cross the bridge on sandstorm without getting near to the wall and climb, you can grab a partner and tell him to get close to the vehicle, and then you can gain sustentation while jumping on his head.

Agree, it's a feature. I checked it. The charge time (not drawn on the HUD like the SPMA does) is up to 3.0. Damage factor would be time value / 3.0. This is the factor of the damage you give a "actor". If it's a vehicle you would do a damage scaled to 85% (factor 0.85).
  • BaseDamage = 120
  • Damage to players = BaseDamage * DamageFactor (* factor which is reducing the damage cuz of the damage absorbing feature of shield and armor)
    --> max. after 3 secs 120 damage (- the absorbing thing)
  • Damage to vehicles = BaseDamage * DamageFactor * VehicleDamageScaling
    --> max. after 3 secs 102 damage

Thats the theoretical part. I didn't check any other code.

I don't see a "feature" to do a 250 damage shot (as I did sometimes). But nevertheless it's still a feature (but kind of uncontrollable in most cases).

yes, that's a feature.
It needs 3 seconds to "recharge" and do full damage.
It's very easy to shoot down a raptor with full damage.
Also, in UT2003, there was a HUD indicator of the recharging process, but not in ut3.
It think it's better there is none, because you need to "count" the recharge process yourself.

3 seconds? really? Then I would deal more damage with spamming 40dmg shots, because waiting 3 seconds for 102dmg on vehicles wouldnt be worth it. But I remember when Boomer waited between the shots and I spammed I still went down faster, means it must deal more damage

Vehicles' weapons have no reduced damage on other vehicles.
As far as I know (and as a result of my tests) a full charge Gunner deals 153 HP to any player, on foot or on vehicle.
