*you may notice a small improvement on start-up, re-boot and shutdown.
*if you use photoshop: yes, i strongly recommend another 2 gb-- [photoshop is extremely demanding]
*how old is your 2gb ram stick?-- if it is 1 yr old or more- buy 4gb brand new and sell your old- if it is less than 1year - buy another 2gb stick
*obviously- things need to be capable
*win 7 takes alot more space and ram than older xp etc

lol i have e6600 2.4 but run at 3.2mhz..
btw:win 7 64 sucks,7 32bit is faster and use less memory and space on hard, but 32bit cant recognize more than 3 gb of ram (depends of mbo) but that is not important becouse you have only 2 gb of ram.
but ok..
if you want improve you sistem first of all install "aida64 extreme edition".
then go in bios..
overclock you processor to 3.0 mhz,
then put memory on 667 mhz
and latenci of memory set auto..
save and exit..
now should work proc at 3.0 mhz
memory at 750 or higher mhz becouse its OC
and Bus speed will be about 10000 MB/s
if sisem will stabile open aida and look temperature of processor if is good then leave what it is,if not you must decrease mhz of processor or get better cpufanSmile

i improved the performance of my pc 2 days ago- it was crashing and getting nasty after 12hrs of editing

*i cleaned my CPU and re-applied thermal paste -

BOOM!
*quiter
*fatser
*cooler
Smile
- i am actually totally suprised how much a simple fix can improve my pc

- i also use a 32bit OS xp-- much better than a 64 bit OS-
even if i do only get 3 gb out of my 2 x 2gb sticks
