need a COOK-My Epic Problem

My UT3 is broken;

After years of doing 'cooking' for people-[converting UT3 PC maps to PS3]
i can no longer carry out this Function.

Can someone 'Cook' some of my Maps for me please.

If you Use UnrealfrontEnd it is very simple to do:
if errors Occur simply post them [Usually Pickup related] nothing difficult and nothing 'the Cook' has to solve-
just click buttons

Many Thanks

Can it be done via cmd as well? I don't have any visual possibilities on the server (and don't have UT3 installed over here), but it might be possible to cook your map via command line

*I have tried this discussion with Warstor/ we are unsure. As i am aware [and in my experience] this cannot be done -
*I created my total Game conversion using frontend not cmd. ]backend[ - so i have no really clue

*The ps3 mod tools kit - [required for this process] seems to only attach itself to the frontend application.

- to explain it easy - [like i did with warstor] - lets call what i want to use "UnrealFrontend" - as it should be]
and we will call your method - "Unreal's Back Door"/ "backend" entrance.
AFAIK backend is used for other things NOHDIR etc
- but maybe with more knowledge this is possible - maybe.

Anyway, this does not matter anymore - My UT3 is officially ruined
- at the point of posting this Thread [post 1] frontend was broke and my directories, but editor worked-

*now MAKE and EDIT functions are also broken / none of my patches seem to install to my docs -
- i am unable to remove read only on my folders - despite trying every device manager / regedit/ user control and file option/ and BIOS searching.

*my entire pc seems to have read only files - despite being the Administrator using PasswordProtection

- i have tried 2 different operating systems on 2 different harddrives for a total combination of 8different ways?

Many Thanks Paradox
[i miss UT3]
Just to make sure im not insane
i upgraded to microsoft NET framework. 4 - this made the problem worse.

- apparently installing mad stuff and messing with things = read only error-
so i try this

The website simply explains what i did- so wtf?

Hoorah
1 week of pure grafting!

Microsoft Frame.NET V2

- anything else will break it
now i can [hopefully] COOK again..

i still cannot get my Game to install properly though.
And shortcuts to editor - only run the game
* editor and game still now working properly ?

lol congratulations! Big Grin

There are many apps which require the .NET Framework 2.0. Most people install the regular version of 3.5 (or 4.0) only, which usually doesn't contain the entire stuff, so some apps won't work. Didn't know UT3 uses it as well though

Betoneer:
a) i need windows 7
b) you cannot confirm that windows 7 will definately work for me with my PC
c) Have you even tried Editor with win 7?
d) windows 7 will come with frameNET higher than 2.0 - this will not work with Cooking

Many Thanks

I use win7 x64 and cooked eversince maps without problems, (although not for PS3.)

Somehow I can't stop thinking you must have put salt into boiling water before you started cooking your shit! Big Grin Big Grin

Indeed, win7 x86 aka 32bit is the best (DOS based) OS out there.
Of course: Linux > *
